How to start real estate investing?

(Prince Edward Island)

I have to say I am a fan of the website and your videos on YouTube are great.

I am 18 and I just finished my first year at the University of Prince Edward Island.

I have been interested in real estate investing for awhile now and I was wondering how a young guy would start out.

I am looking to build a nice life for myself with many different businesses but I really like the real estate investing and that is how I would like to start out.

I am interested in the flipping of houses and buying rental properties just almost everything involved with real estate. I live in PEI which only as a population of 130,000 which is awful small.

I was wondering if the province is too small to build a strong real estate portfolio and how should I go about starting in real estate investing.

Thanks.

P.E.I. Real Estate Investor
by: Chris

I also live in P.E.I. I started my real estate investing when I was your age with a little help (co-signing) from my parents and have continued to grow since that.

You have the right idea by wanting to learn more. It is a great path to financial strength.

P.E.I. can be a great place to start. Charlottetown real estate has had a steady 3-5% growth over the last 10 years. No matter what the province/city there are good and bad real estate investments.

Some of the keys to real estate investing are.
- Always buy in a good neighborhood.
- Always have monthly cash flow.
- Treat your tenants like your customers and with a lot of respect (because they pay your bills).

Best of luck,
Chris
