It's been a super busy week around here... 1. Nick went up on a Hot Air Balloon and wrote about the experience over on our blog. You can check it out by clicking here..... Blog.TheRealEstateRenegades.com 2. We started the process of a top secret project we're working on that you'll hear more about in upcoming weeks. One of the steps was getting approval from a governing Ontario real estate authority to do something we're planning and the approval came in this week! Stay tuned... 3. We had a great chat with Don Campbell, President of the Real Estate Investment Network (REIN). We talked investing versus speculating and discussed the latest TV craze, "Property Porn". Property Porn are the TV shows that show "regular" guys and gals flipping real estate for big bucks. They look like reality shows but are more like fantasy land. Whenever you are buying a house and trying to sell it for a quick profit you're speculating. And if the market conditions change in the middle of your project you could be left out in the cold. Our family knows this from direct experience in the early 1990's. If "flipping" real estate is something you want to get into make sure you have the financial backing to support you through some bumps and make sure that you have a mentor with experience. I know a couple of people that are very successful at flipping properties but they've been doing it for years and have some very deep pockets. We're going to share the interview with Don with our investing clients in our Income For Life real estate investing program.
