Canadian Mortgage Qualification

by Tim
(St. Catharines, Ontario)

I would like to begin investing in real estate.

I have approximately $60,000 equity in my own home but my only source of income is a disability pension.

I have a good credit rating and would like to know if you think I would qualify for a mortgage.

RE: Can I qualify for a property mortgage?
by: Tom Karadza

Hi Tim,

You may, a good mortgage broker would know best though. Call one mortgage broker and ask them.

Remember if you call more than one they may all pull your credit and that can affect your rating a tad. Try and deal only with one broker and one banker if possible.

Hope that helps a bit!!

Tom.
